The Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team (MCREST) shelters men, women, children and families for up to 90 days in congregations across Macomb County. The congregations provide meals, shower facilities, transportation and, when able, laundry services for our guests. MCREST operates year round providing case management, housing assistance and in collaboration with Downriver Community Services, medical care, mental and substance abuse counseling. During our guest’s stay case managers work with each individual and family to develop and implement a personalized housing plan that concentrates on overcoming barriers to self-reliance such as lack of income, poor money management, mental health issues, substance abuse, and a broken personal support system. MCREST is proud to provide a safe place where families and individuals can start over again and begin the transition of changing their lives.   See our Donation Wish List. GOODS such as clothes, household items, etc. MCREST is excited to announce our collaboration with Inside America Foundation Thrift Stores. Due to our limited storage area, we are asking that what you might have brought to MCREST such as clothes, household items, etc, that you now take to the IAF Thrift store in Sterling Heights, in MCREST’S name, in return, IAF will be providing us vouchers for our clients to shop at their stores. Donate a vehicle or boat, running or not, to Charity Motors (www.charitymotors.org) and designate MCREST to received an substantial percentage of the proceeds. You claim the fair market value as a tax deduction and someone gets a car & or boat. Charity Motors also assists with appraisals and towing.

MCREST is a 501(c)(3) organization.  Your donation can be used for tax purposes in accordance with Federal and State law.
